The Playvybz Fam have welcomed UK DJ legend CK Flash to the fam-if you don't know, get to know!

National Drivetime is where he began, bringing some of the UK's most successful acts including Ms Dynamite and So Solid to name a few. As well as his musical passions, CK has set up 3 BMX Racing Tracks in south London; and is a coach for the Olympic BMX Racing team.

2009 was a great year for the Playvybz Fam-Saturday 17 October 2009 saw us dress up reaall pretty (check out Deliane's dress) to represent front table and centre at the first annual BEFFTA Awards at London's Hilton Metropole. BEFFTA stands for Black Entertainment Fashion Film Television and Arts, and was hosted by Richard Blackwood, Kat, Angie Lemar and new comedienne on the block Ms London. Catergories included Best Event Promotor, Best UK African Act, Best Television Programme (taken home by our very-own Kubi Springer for Sisterhood TV-check out the radio version here every Monday from 8pm GMT) and of course Radio Station of the Year; where Choice FM, Voice of Africa and Colourful Radio were pipped to the post by our good selves ;)

Nominations and winning votes all came from the public so we would like to say a massive thank you to all of those who voted and helped us to spread the word.

Join the Playvybz Academy

The Playvybz Academy exists to nurture and develop interest in professional DJ-ing and presenting skills for radio. The Academy is also open to those who wish to brush-up on existing skills whilst exploring new techniques.

Those who enrol on a course with the Playvybz Academy will receive tuition from experienced DJs, presenters and producers. Most of our tutors have extensive practical knowledge in the areas of live DJ-ing, radio presenting and music production; as well as a background in writing and performance within a variety of musical genres.

Members of the Academy are taught in small groups and have access to equipment such as decks, microphones and computer programmes.

Before joining the Playvybz Family, some of our existing DJz and Hostz have successfully completed a course with the Academy. We will regularly invite members of the Academy to become part of the Playvybz Family providing we feel they are ready to organise and manage their own weekly show.
